The resignation of the four DAP representatives from Melaka proves what many have known for some time: which is the DAP grassroots leaders are not happy about Lim Kit Siang flirting with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. For some time many DAP leaders have been unhappy with Kit Siang and Guan Eng and now it appears to have finally reached breaking point.

There are many more in DAP who feel the same way but for the sake of the party they do not want to rock the boat. There are also Malays who support Pakatan but who are unhappy with Mahathir's role in the opposition. What Dr Wan Azizah Ismail said yesterday expresses the sentiments of many Malays.

The credibility and integrity of both DAP and Pakatan Harapan have suffered these last two years because of the unholy alliance between Mahathir and Kit Siang. All the gains the opposition made in 2008 and 2013 are going to be lost in the next general election.

No one doubts that both Mahathir and Kit Siang are serving their personal political agenda at the sacrifice of the interest of the voters. And the voters will show their unhappiness in the next election if this state of affairs continues.

The fact that Mahathir and Kit Siang said many nasty things about each other in the past and now embrace each other demonstrates a lack of principles and morals. As much as you may be united by a common objective, you still need to maintain some level of honour and integrity.

The damage, however, has already been done and after this U-turn it will be impossible to do yet another U-turn. The main unhappiness is with Kit Siang and Guan Eng so it does not take a genius to figure out the solution.

KUALA LUMPUR: Selepas beberapa pemimpin Pas membidas kenyataan Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad yang menutup pintu rundingan bersama parti tersebut, Pengerusi Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) itu sekali lagi membuat ‘pusingan U’ apabila menyatakan kerjasama antara kedua-dua parti berkenaan belum berakhir.

Beliau berkata, perbincangan dengan Pas masih diteruskan dan keputusan akan dibuat selepas pertemuan akhir antara kedua-dua parti yang dijadualkan pada 2 Februari ini.

Pada masa sama, bekas Perdana Menteri itu menuduh sesetengah pemimpin Pas berhasrat mensabotaj kerjasama antara mereka setelah beliau menerima kecaman hebat termasuk disifatkan sebagai pemimpin angkuh.

“Perjumpaan akan diketuai Timbalan Presiden PPBM, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir untuk menentukan pendirian Pas. Sebelum itu, kita tidak akan kata apa-apa sehingga rundingan itu tamat.

“Sama ada Pas ma­suk atau tidak, penyertaan kita bersama pembangkang akan dibuat secara rasmi,” katanya seperti dipetik daripada portal berita Free Malaysia Today, www.freemalaysiatoday.com, hari ini.

Dalam satu temu bual bersama akhbar Singapura, The Sunday Times baru-baru ini, Dr. Mahathir memilih untuk melupakan pakatan dengan Pas apabila parti pimpinannya mahu mengutamakan kerjasama dengan DAP bagi menghadapi Pilihan Raya Umum Ke-14 (PRU-14).

Dr. Mahathir berkata, beliau bersedia menutup pintu rundingan dengan Pas ekoran keengganan parti tersebut bekerjasama dengan parti-parti sekutu PPBM dalam Pakatan Harapan yang diketuai DAP.

Dalam pada itu, mengulas mengenai kertas siasatan Agensi Perisikan Pusat (CIA) Amerika Syarikat yang mempertikaikan respon pentadbiran beliau terhadap skandal kewangan Bumiputra Malaysia Finance Ltd. (BMF), Dr. Mahathir berkata, laporan lain yang menyiasat skandal tersebut menunjukkan beliau tidak terbabit dalam hal itu.

“Perkara ini berlaku terlalu lama pada 1981 hingga 1984, kenapa bangkitkan semula sekarang? Bolehkah anda betulkan apa-apa yang saya buat dulu?

“Tujuannya ialah politik, mungkin ada orang yang akan terima manfaat daripada ini. Ada laporan lain yang berbeza dengan laporan CIA. Baca laporan itu juga,” katanya.

KUALA LUMPUR - DAP dipercayai tidak pernah percayakan Pengerusi Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM), Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad apabila perkara itu dikatakan dibangkitkan dalam mesyuarat Ahli Jawatankuasa DAP Pulau Pinang baru-baru ini.

Dalam mesyuarat di George Town itu, kesangsian terhadap Dr. Mahathir disuarakan oleh beberapa anggota jawatankuasa itu termasuk pemimpin kanan parti itu.

Difahamkan, ada kalangan mereka mempersoalkan bagaimana bekas Naib Pengerusi DAP, Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim memperoleh maklumat pertemuan antara penasihat parti itu, Lim Kit Siang dan Dr. Mahathir, malah lebih pelik lagi mengetahui pula butiran perbincangan tersebut.

"Adakah Tun M sendiri yang bocorkan maklumat tersebut," antara luahan yang difahamkan bertanyakan mesyuarat yang dipengerusikan oleh seorang pemimpin kanan DAP negeri sambil memberitahu bahawa dirinya `tidak percaya langsung' dengan Dr. Mahathir.

Sebelum ini, Tunku Abdul Aziz mendakwa wujud pakatan sulit antara Dr. Mahathir dan Kit Siang berhubung siapa yang bakal menjadi Perdana Menteri dan Timbalan Perdana Menteri jika pakatan pembangkang memenangi Pilihan Raya Umum Ke-14 (PRU-14).

Dakwa Tunku Abdul Aziz, tanpa pengetahuan parti sekutu lain terutama PKR, kedua-dua pemimpin itu membuat perjanjian rahsia melantik Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Mahathir sebagai Perdana Menteri manakala Kit Siang sebagai Timbalan Perdana Menteri.

Nada sama menyentuh PPBM turut diluahkan oleh seorang lagi ahli jawatankuasa itu dalam mesyuarat tersebut apabila membantah penyertaan Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan ke dalam DAP.

Khairuddin diingatkan oleh ahli DAP itu merupakan orang yang setia dengan Dr. Mahathir dan sekiranya dia diterima dalam DAP, maka itu merupakan `satu malapetaka kepada DAP sendiri'.

Dalam pada itu, DAP juga digesa tidak terlalu bertolak ansur dengan PPBM dalam soal pengagihan kerusi dalam pilihan raya umum ke-14 (PRU-14) nanti.

Bagaimanapun, mesyuarat meredakan kebimbangan itu dengan memberitahu, DAP Pusat berpandangan bahawa PPBM hanya akan dibenarkan bersaing di kawasan-kawasan peneroka.

DAP Pusat juga memberi gambaran bahawa peruntukan kerusi untuk parti itu kali ini lebih banyak berbanding semasa PRU-13.

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said that the recently-released CIA report implicating him in the 1983 multi-billion BMF scandal is meant to demonise him. And the reason the CIA wants to demonise him, said Mahathir, is because he criticises the US.

If that is true why did the CIA wait 34 years to do this? They would have done it when he was still Prime Minister and not now when he is no longer important to the US.

Actually the BMF report is just two pages of 13 million pages that the CIA declassified and is purely coincidental. The CIA did not declassify just these two pages regarding the BMF issue alone.

Many countries declassify documents that are classified or under the Official Secrets Act after 25, 35, or more, years depending on the sensitivity of those documents. Some, of course, remain classified forever. But for Mahathir to suggest the CIA declassified 13 million pages of documents just so that they can leak two pages related to BMF aimed at demonising him is ludicrous.

he added that PKR and DAP insisted only nominate one candidate even though it was ruled Menteri Besar of Selangor Sultan to submit more than two names clearly contains maneuvering.

"Because too greedy want to dominate the state administration so that Anwar and DAP did not care about the message the Sultan of Selangor's Pakatan Rakyat wants to submit more than two candidates for the Chief Minister, '' he said.

Syed Ali also slammed PKR and DAP rude actions that disobeys the orders of the Sultan of Selangor. Both parties also alleged to have respect for the laws and institutions of the castle, the umbrella ethnic unity and the Malays in the country.

Syed Ali stressed that all plans and agenda Anwar evil should be curbed including not appointing his wife as Chief Minister.

He feared that if Wan Azizah as menteri besar will certainly break anything MOU Barisan Nasional (BN) of water, the Kinrara-Damansara (Kidex) and so on are designed to benefit people of this country.

However Syed Ali did not rule out the possibility of PKR and DAP will drag the people in street demonstrations and mock castle institutions if their ambitions lay Wan Azizah as Selangor Menteri Besar is not reached.
